Dr. Mohammed Ahsen Chaudhri served the University of Karachi as Professor and Chairman of the Department of International Relations from 1958 to 1986 and Dean of the Faculty of Arts from 1982 to 1986. Born in Babha - East Punjab, he was educated at California, Oregon and Duke Universities. He represented Pakistan at the U.N. General Assembly in 1978 and served UNESCO as a consultant on Peace Research in 1968.
He is the author of United Nations peace Mechanism and Rules (1973). Pakistan and the Great Powers (1970). the Growth of International Law and Pakistan and the Pacts (1958), co-author and editor or Paksitan and the Regional Pacts (1958), co-author and editor of Pakistan and Regional Security (1986), Prospects of International Arbitraton (1966). Foreign Policy of Pakistan-An Analysis (1963), etc. Besides, he contributed papers to many foreign books and learned jounals such as Asian Survey, Asian Studies, Egyptian Journal or International Law and the Journal of Peace Research.
He has participated in large number of international conferences and is a life member of many learned societies.
