This is the first and only book of its kind in English paying, as it does, a glowing tribute to the Holy Prophet (peace be on him) in eloquent numbers. It is an inspired work springing from the heart of the poet and making it a highly poetical presentation frequently reaching white heat of passion. Aptly characterised as hymns and homages because of the dual nature of its themes, celebrating both. God and His apostle, it strikes chords that move along the heart and sink deep into it. The poems on the Prophet (peace be on him) and generally islamic themes are of varied nature presenting a chequered scene. The earlier part consists of hymns which strike a sublime note reminiscent of the psalms or the later day Khalil Jibran with a rich addition of poetry. They combine high seriousness and solemnity with graceful expression strikingly fresh even in English with its exceptional richness of muse. The nose is throughout of a high order. The poems on the Prophet (peace be on him) are not merely eulogistic outpourings but are genuine, heartfelt expression of the paradigmatic personality of the Prophet. it is his unique achievement that is persistently highlighted in ever new ways presenting a cinemetographic panorama of his monentous role. The book is thus remarkable as a poetic work apart from its appeal as religious work. In tone and tenor and beauty of expression it strikes as the work of an accomplished English poet. The Book is studded with short vignatte-like poems glittering like jewels with capital capitions which make a strong appeal by their artistic nature and provide a highly intellectual treat.

Prior to the present work, his magnum opus, his ardent love for the Prophet (peace be on him) found expression in a collection of poems in Urdu eulogising the Prophet, which place him in the front rank of those writing in the popular naat genre. In view of the universal resurgence of Islamic spirit in our times creating intense love of the Prophet. Mr. Naqvi keyed himself to the task of giving his ardour expression in English as well because of the global scope of this language and spread of Muslims in most parts of the world. It is his keen desire that his lyric homage to the Prophet should reach utmost limits.
Mr. Naqvi's contribution to literature has a wide spectrum extending to literary figures as well as different periods and aspects of Urdu literature, particularly on the side of research.
