Globalization has given rise to challenges for developing states. It could carry serious implications for the future of Middle Eastern states. Among other major challenges is the desire of United States to acquire control over regional oil, gas and other resources. The US policy has caused conflict in the region. Its ally Israel has established control over water resources thus undermining the Palestinian economy.
The book also includes ananlysis of Iran-US relations with particular reference to the nuclear issue.
Dr. Talat A Wizarat is Professor at the Department of Social Sciences, Institute of Business.
Administration, Karachi Pakistan. She specializes in Middle East and South Asia. Other fields of interest include Conflict Resolution and Track II diplomacy. She has been part of several Track II initiatives including NIMRANA. She has been trying to create better understanding of issues emanating from intereacting of politics and technology. She has edited one book and contribute chapters to eight books. She has also written articles from jounal of repute. Currently she is working on a book on political situation in the Persian gulf.
