Lubna Agha emerged on the art scene during the early 1970s. Young, prolific, and talented, she took Pakistan's art world by storm. Withing only a few years, she won numerous laurels, held voluminous one-person exhibitions, and participated in shows with distinguished senior artists. With a career spanning over three decades, this preeminent artist's work has seen monumental shifts in style-marked by courageous experiementation and innovation-constantly propelling her work in new and challenging directions.
In this compellingly written monograph, a foremost scholar and critic of modern South Asian Art, Dr. Marcella Sirhandi, captures the journey of Agha's creative mind. As poignantly described by Salima Hashmi, "Lubna Agha's reclamations take her into a kaleidoscope of vivid color, an inescapab le zone of wonder"-the reader is invited to share in this in-depth look into this artist's stirring and immutable world.
