This biography aims to provide insight into nearly all aspects of Nusratji's life, especially her art and its variations which confirm her as a highly talented and accomplished artist.
The main focus of this publication is her journey into art culture and related activities. Some of her other interests, including florat art, interior design, horticulture and in teaching art at various levels have also been discussed.
The scape of book extends from Nusratji's early life, family background and her family's support for her interest in art, her studies, school and college days to her move to Karachi and joining of an art education centre, which was a turning point in her life and her life as an accomplished artist in the years to come.
Mohsin S. jaffri is a journalist of high repute, resettled in Karachi after spending thrity-five years in the UK. USA and Saudi Arabia. He is a frequent editorial and creative contributor to literary jounals both inside and outside Pakistan. He is also the author and researcher, and translator of many literary works of merit. His educational background, work life in the UK and his own liberal attitude has helped him develop a wide perspective, deep insight and independent view of life that transcends the boundaries of social, religous or traditional barriers.
However, what started as a casual interest in art slowly developed into a deep passion and became a life-long appreciation of all that is art. He has held exhibition of his paintings in many galleries in Pakistan and the United Kingdom. His recent solo art exhibition, 'Linear Dimensions' was held at VM Art Gallery, Rangoonwala Centre, Karachi.
He was written extensively an economic, social and cultural issues and is also the author of three books. The Other Half: Discirmination Against Women, Sang-e-Geran Aur, a collection of his Urdu poems (in free verse), and Time and Love, a collection of his English poems. All the three books are published by Royal Book publications, Karachi. His collection of poems is about his experiences and observations in the UK, Pakistan and his travels to many cities in the world. Another of his book, Art in Pakistan: Reviews and Reflections is nearing completing and is expected to be published early next year.
Presently, he is serving, in a senior capacity, with a reputable English newspaper, published simultaneously from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
