MUHAMMAD SOEBHAENULLAH KHAN (M.S. KHAN) has wide range of experience in competition matters that purport to fight monopolies and cartels. Presently he is serving as senior executive at the Monopoly Control Authority / the Corporate Law Authority, Government of Pakistan. He has investigated monopoly and cartel-like behaviour in various manufacturing industries including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, sugar, tobacco, textiles. Before joining the Authority, he served as economic consultant at international consulting firm. He travelled extensively and recently had the opportunity to visit, under UNCTAO's programme, Belgium (EEC). Switzerland, the UK, the USA and India to study actual working and enforcement techniques of their antimonopoly and unfair trade practices (consumer protection) laws.
He received his BA (Hons.) and MA degrees In economics from the Karachi University and M.Sc., degree In economics from the Stirling University, Scotland.
He has published articles and industrial survey reports in economic journals.
